We're truly honored to announce that Flamekeeper has been nominated for five International Bluegrass Music Association awards this year including a first-time nomination in the Entertainer of the Year Category! The band also is nominated for Instrumental Group of the Year for the fourth time.
In the individual awards, Mike is nominated for an eighth Fiddle Performer of the Year award. Marshall is nominated for Bass Performer of the Year, and Jesse Brock for Mandolin Performer of the Year.
Mike and the band currently hold five awards. Flamekeeper has won the Instrumental Group of the Year award for the past three years. Last year Mike won Fiddle Performer of the Year for the seventh time, while Jesse Brock took his first Mandolin Performer of the Year award and Marshall his first for Bass Performer of the Year. Mike and Jesse also won Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year for "Jerusalem Ridge," a fiddle-and-mandolin duet from the Leavin' Town CD.
The nominees and award winners are chosen by the professional members of the IBMA. The IBMA Award Show is a highlight of the IBMA's annual World of Bluegrass week in Nashville. We're excited to announce that we'll be touring Germany and Switzerland this December! So far we've got ten shows scheduled, starting December 3 in Reutlingen and ending on the 18th in Shaffhausen. This will be the band's first overseas tour and we're really looking forward to it. More dates in Germany and possibly other European countries are planned, so stay tuned.
